Charlie: A Toy Story

Family Drama, Faith, And Slapstick Mayhem Mix In This Pleasant Message Movie
The Dove Foundation approved "Charlie: A Toy Story" is the latest production from the Engine 15 Media Group. From what I've seen, this organization specializes in low-budget kid's fare that smacks of amateur filmmaking. Yes, this family friendly endeavor has a positive message and that's commendable. That does not, however, automatically make it a necessary DVD purchase. Anytime you say something critical about a feature made for children, people go out of their way to condemn your opinion. "Lighten up, it's cute enough for kids." I patently refuse to give in to this ideology, though, because I want quality entertainment choices for my kids! I want to recognize the great efforts of those toiling to make smart, challenging, and truly memorable work for the younger generation and not just rubber stamp anything with the highest rating possible. That said, "Charlie: A Toy Story" is pleasant enough and one of more fully realized films that I've seen from this enterprise...

Cute movie
My kids' loved this movie. They couldn't stop talking about it after the first time they watched it. Needless to say it's been watched more than once.

Funny & a Great Message
I loved the messages of "Just Believe", Never give up and using your imaginaton. I really liked the relationship between Jack & Caden. The bullies, Scooter & Robbie reminded me of Joe Pesci & Daniel Stern. But overall the movie needed just a bit more... but for a super family friendly movie; I highly recommend it. The kids will laugh and the younger ones will want to watch it over and over.
